Spotlight – Habitability
Habitability remodeling operations are advancing significantly in multiple compartments. Current work encompasses four berthing spaces, six sanitary facilities, two offices, and one passageway, all properly tagged out with active remodeling in progress. To enhance crew communication, a sanitary space status tracker has been installed near the Incident Command Post in HB2, providing real-time updates on facility availability.
PM11 (Berthing Rehab) is progressing work to maintain the remodel schedule at an enthusiastic pace. Recent accomplishments include, rack and vanity lighting disconnected in four berthings and complete rack and locker removal in one berthing with a second removal in progress. The Berthing Rehab team is focused on completing the eight total berthings undergoing rehab, on time. TECNICO CORP serves as the embedded repair activity supporting PM11 operations. The contractor continues to provide comprehensive training, delivers constructive feedback, and supports the team development throughout the berthing remodel process.

Getting to and from Work Safely: Own Your Safety
Safety starts with you. At work, you wear PPE, practice ORM, and follow procedures to ensure a safe environment. Are you doing everything you can to protect yourself while transiting to and from work? Situational awareness is critical, especially when traveling. Whether walking, biking, or driving, being aware of your surroundings can prevent accidents and keep you safe. Ask yourself:
- Are you visible to others, especially in low-light conditions?
- Are you paying attention to traffic, pedestrians, and potential hazards?
- Are you avoiding distractions like using your phone while walking or driving?
Visibility is a vital part of safety, especially during early mornings or late evenings when lighting is limited. To help ensure your safety, we’re launching the “Can You See Me Now?!” campaign. Safety personnel will be handing out reflective arm bands, starting Jan 5th at the ECP and CIA gates. These tools are designed to make you more visible to drivers and others. They can make a big difference in reducing the risk of accidents. At the end of the day, safety is about going home to the people you love. By taking ownership of your safety, you’re not just protecting yourself – you’re protecting your future.
