🎉 Happy 93rd Birthday to Raphael Torrech III 🎉
Today, July 10th, would have marked the 93rd birthday of our esteemed Founder, Raphael Torrech III. Though he passed in November 2024, his leadership, dedication, and unwavering values remain the foundation of Técnico Corporation.
This morning, several Técnico employees gathered at the flagpole to pay their respects and stand alongside the Torrech family during the Pledge of Allegiance—a heartfelt tribute to a man who built more than a company; he built a community.
💙We are proud to carry his mission and legacy forward each day❤️

🚤 This Past Weekend in Downtown Norfolk…
Técnico Corporation proudly made its debut as a volunteer at the Annual ASNE-Sikaflex Ultimate Build-A-Boat Challenge during Norfolk Harborfest—and what a splash we made!
Our talented Apprentices—Troy Decker, Anthony Bradford, Marquetta Cook, and Robbert Powell—stepped up to represent Tecnico in this high-energy event hosted by the American Society of Naval Engineers. Using only plywood, lumber, zip ties, and Sikaflex adhesive, they built and raced two boats over the weekend, showcasing creativity, teamwork, and grit.
On Sunday, just before race time, Britteny Jonson jumped in to support the team when one of our original participants had to step out—thank you, Britteny!
Both Técnico teams competed in the second heat, each racing 200 yards to the buoy and 200 yards back. They placed 4th and 5th out of 7 teams, with our 4th place crew narrowly missing a spot in the finals. Not bad at all for a first showing!
⚓ We’re beyond proud of their hard work and sportsmanship. We can’t wait to see what next year brings!
